Our Team

James is the Principal and Chief Investment Officer of Ross Peak Capital, a private investment firm primarily focused on lower middle market private equity and real estate.

Over the course of a 35-plus year career in financial services, James held a variety of senior leadership positions at JPMorgan Chase and Merrill Lynch. He was responsible for businesses spanning capital markets and wealth management, as wells corporate strategy and business transformation. His experience includes leading large organizations, managing risk, allocating capital, and helping businesses navigate periods of growth and change.

Today, James applies that experience as a long-term investor and business owner. Through RPC he invests across private companies, real estate, and public securities, with a particular interest in founder-led businesses, healthcare services, business services, and other sectors where operational excellence and strategic support can create lasting value.

The firm seeks opportunities to partner with entrepreneurs, management teams, and fellow investors who share a long-term perspective. Rather than pursuing short-term outcomes, the focus is on preserving capital, building durable businesses, and creating value over time through disciplined decision-making and thoughtful stewardship.

In addition to his investment activities, James is actively involved in community and nonprofit organizations and serves in leadership and governance roles.
